Daily collection
A scheduled build checks the three official membership directories, current election enrichment and available voting records every day. A build is rejected if the expected current totals—49 Jersey elected members, 40 Guernsey voting members and 10 Alderney States Members—are not present. If a source is temporarily unavailable, the last verified snapshot is retained rather than publishing an empty directory.
Change tracking
The observation log compares stable member IDs, official vote IDs and source availability with the preceding verified snapshot. It begins from an explicit baseline on 22 August 2026 and does not reconstruct earlier events. A field change means that the published record changed; the tracker does not infer why.
Images and manifestos
Portrait thumbnails are locally cached from the linked public profile or election source so member directories remain fast and stable. Manifesto links point to official election pages or books. Topic labels are generated from disclosed keyword groups and serve only as a navigation index.
Voting similarity
Jersey and Guernsey percentages are calculated from official electronic voting records. Matching eligible choices are divided by votes shared by each pair; absences and non-participating states are excluded. Jersey uses the current political term from 7 June 2026 and Guernsey uses the latest completed meeting. A pair needs at least five shared choices, so Jersey publishes no ranking while its new-term sample remains below that threshold.
Personal interests
Member pages link to legislature-published declarations and activity records. The tracker does not copy residential or family details, and it does not infer that a named company or charity is the same entity as a record in another jurisdiction.
What the tracker does
- Preserves the source’s spelling, office and constituency labels.
- Links every member and vote page back to a primary public record.
- Publishes the rights-cleared Jersey vote extract plus tracker-generated freshness and change metadata.
- Distinguishes current-term voting samples and bounded recent indexes from complete archives.
What the tracker does not do
- No synthetic attendance, engagement or performance scores.
- No inferred party label where the source leaves party blank.
- No automated “promise kept” score from topic overlap.
- No ranking across legislatures with different voting systems.
- No mixed-island member export without a shared verified open-data licence.
Corrections
Primary sources remain authoritative. If a record differs from an official source, use the source link on the affected page and report the discrepancy through the project repository.
